Tigue at TV Eye

The group called Tigue is a trio of percussionists. Now that may suggest a lot of banging and bashing - and Tigue can do that when required. But the group takes a broad view of what “percussion” means, so you’ll hear them playing synthesizers, for example, to create atmospheric works that blend contemporary classical, rock, and minimalism. Tigue has moved easily between those worlds, commissioning and premiering new compositions but also playing with veteran indie rock bands like Yo La Tengo. Tigue plays July 6 at TV Eye in Ridgewood, Queens.
